 వాళ్లు ఉపాసించే దేవుడు ఎవరో తెలుసా? రుద్రుడు. ఆగండాగండి. తొందరపడి ఓ డెసిషన్‌కు వచ్చేయకండి. ఇక్కడ రుద్రుడు అంటే మనం అంతా అనుకునే శివుడు కాడు. మహాదేవుడు కానే కాదు. ఈ అఘోరాలు ఉపాసించే రుద్రుడు వేరే ఉన్నాడు. ఆయన రూప విశేషాలు వేరే ఉంటాయి. భయానికి, బీభత్సానికి సింబల్‌ ఈ రుద్రుడు. భారత రామాయణాల కాలానికి చాలా ముందు నుంచి మౌఖికంగా వ్యాప్తమైన నాలుగు వేదాల్లో ఒకటైన ఋగ్వేదంలో మొదట ప్రస్తావించిన పేరు రుద్రుడు. ఈ పేరు తరువాతి కాలంలో శివుడికి ప్రత్యామ్నాయ పేరుగా మారిందే కానీ. ఈ ఇద్దరూ వేర్వేరు. మనందరికీ తెలిసింది శివుడైనా, శంకరుడైనా, రుద్రుడైనా, మహాదేవుడైనా ఒకరనే. ఋగ్వేదంలో కనీసం 75 చోట్ల ఈ రుద్రుడి ప్రస్తావన ఉంటుంది. విశ్వంలో 11మంది రుద్రులున్నట్లు కూడా అందులో తెలుస్తుంది. ఈ 11మందిలో శివుడు, శంకరుడు, మహాదేవుడి పేర్లు కూడా ఉంటాయి కానీ, అఘోరులు ఉపాసించే రుద్రుడు వేదకాలం నాటి దేవుడు. శివ, రుద్రుల మధ్యన స్పష్టమైన విభజన రేఖ ఉంది. శివుడు బోళా శంకరుడు. రుద్రుడు అలా కాదు. ఈ రుద్రుడు మనం ఇంగ్లీషులో పిలుచుకుంటామే.. ‘ది రోరర్‌' అంటే గర్జించే పులి. దాని పేరే ‘ఘోరా’ ఈ ఘోరా నే రుద్రుడు. ఇతణ్ణి గాలి, గాలివాన లతో పోల్చారు.అందుకే ఈ రుద్రుణ్ణి ఉపాసించే వాళ్లు తమకు తాము అఘోరాలయ్యారు. ఈ రుద్రుడి గురించి మన వాళ్లే కాదు. విదేశీయులైన ప్రొఫెసర్‌ పిశె్చల్‌, గ్రాస్‌మన్‌, స్టెల్లా క్రమరిచ్‌లు చాలా పరిశోధనలే చేశారు. మన దేశానికి సంబంధించి ఆర్కే శర్మ ఎటిమాలజీ రుద్రుడి గురించిన ‘ఘోరా’ రూపాన్ని విసృ్తతంగా చర్చిస్తుంది. ఈ రుద్రుడు మనలో రౌద్రానికి ప్రతీక. ఇతను ఎరుపు రంగులో ఉంటాడట. అది రక్తానికి ప్రతీక. రుద్రుడంటే భయం.. రుద్రుడు రోగాలకు అధిపతి. మృత్యువుకు ప్రతిరూపం. అందుకే ఇవి రెండూ అఘోరుల దరిదాపుల్లోకి కూడా రావు. మనం 50 ఏళ్లు బతకటానికి ఆపసోపాలు పడతాం.. వాళ్లు అలవోకగా ఎన్నేళ్లయినా బతికేస్తారు. అదీ ఇష్టం ఉండి కాదు. భౌతిక సుఖాలు కోరుకుని కాదు. రుద్రుడిని ఉపాసించి. ధ్యానించి.. ఆవాహన చేసుకుని.. తామే రుద్రులుగా మారిపోయి..
